Mexican police presented to the press lord "La Barbie" arrested Monday
Edgar Valdez Villareal, nicknamed "Barbie", one of the most wanted drug kingpins in Mexico and was arrested Monday, was presented Tuesday to the press by the Federal Police.
Valdez Villareal, which was introduced in facilities of the Federal Police in the capital amid tight security, was wearing a green shirt on that read "London" and always showed a face relaxed and even smiling.
The arrest of "Barbie", on Monday afternoon in the state of Mexico (center), was achieved through "intelligence work and exchange of information with U.S. agencies," said Rosas.
Police said that Mexican authorities are studying a possible extradition to the U.S. bonnet. "It is yet to be defined" by law enforcement authorities to extradite Valdez United States, where he is wanted for trafficking in cocaine from 2004 to 2006, said the Federal Police chief, Facundo Rosas told a press in the presentation of capo in Mexico City.
"Valdez Villarreal's capture is a high impact blow against organized crime," Mexico said Monday Alejandro Poire, technical secretary of the National Security Council.
Valdez Villarreal disputed heavy fighting since December for the cartel's control of the Beltran Leyva brothers after the death of former leader, Arturo Beltran, in a military operation in December 2009.
