The theft in virtual worlds is becoming a bigger problem




Recently the company was G Data Security that warned about the spread of threats designed to affect online games, now is the ENISA (European Network Security and Information) that through a study reveals that users of virtual worlds like Second Life and World of Warcraft increasingly are targeted by more thefts and attacks.

According to the survey, 1,500 respondents, 30% have ever suffered the theft of virtual property. These properties are sold at a high price in the market, especially those that are difficult to obtain.

But not only is stealing and selling virtual properties, many of these services are subscription fee, so that attackers are also involved in stealing bank details of the user accounts. It is estimated that criminals generate millions of dollars with these activities

According to Kaspersky, programs to attack this type of platform have increased by 145% in less than a year. And while these services continue to gain popularity, the threats continue to increase.
