Official Statement: Steam does not come to Linux!

GNU Linux games steam valve

Steam is a digital distribution, digital rights manager, multiplayer and communications platform developed by Valve Corporation . It is used for the distribution of online games and multimedia, from small independent software developers to larger homes.

Probably read a lot of buzz about Steam coming to Linux, but there was never an official word about it. GamesIndustry.biz has interviewed Doug Lombardi of Valve Corporation . The last question was whether Valve Corporation was working on a Linux version of Steam.

These were the exact question and answer:

Q: GamesIndustry: Last question, What is truth to the rumors that are also working on a version of Steam for Linux?
A: Doug Lombardi: There is no Linux version in which we are working now ......

Now,

How is it going? ... Valve Corporation is trying to hide the fact that they are working on Steam for Linux or just are not doing? ...
Well, at least not say "never" but for now (or future), it seems that there will be Steam for Linux.
