Taipei Taiwan Internet cafes have built showers, washing clothes and bedding for their clients, which allow them to spend long periods playing on the internet.

"There is a big market for online games and people started thinking in offering all kinds of services for clients in local," says Murphy Wang, one of the pioneers of Internet cafes in Taipei. On the island, more than half of the students have visited these establishments and the number of patrons exceeds 400,000, according to the city of Taipei.

Although addiction to online games is increasing day by day, the number of customers of cybercafes not done at the same pace, "because almost everyone has broadband connection at home," says Lin.

INTERNET ADDICTION
"Most of my friends go once a week, but some do it daily because their parents are not allowed to play at home," said Chang Li-rong, Lanya College in Taipei.

A islanders educators are concerned about addiction to online games and a 2009 study, conducted in Taiwan, says that 25 percent of boys and 13 percent of girls are addicted to the Internet.
